Bone Broth and Gut Health

Bone broth is revered for its rich nutrient profile and potential benefits for gut health. It's a potent source of collagen, gelatin, and amino acids like glutamine, which can support the intestinal lining and aid digestion. These nutrients are also believed to help reduce inflammation and promote healthy gut flora, potentially improving overall gut health. Let’s make a bone broth soup.

Slow Cooker Bone Broth Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

4-5 chicken legs

2 carrots

2 celery stalks

1 onion (all roughly chopped)

A few garlic cloves

Instructions:

Place the chicken, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic in a crockpot. Cover with water, add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and season with Himalayan salt, pepper, and any desired herbs (like thyme or rosemary). Cook on high for 8-12 hours. Strain the broth into mason jars, discarding solids/fats, and store in the fridge or freezer for later use. Enjoy!
